SumSpark

Plain-language privacy

Your math. Your choice.

SumSpark works without an account. Optional sign-in adds synchronization and a profile, not access to the game.

Guest play

Daily Game statistics, Daily Challenge history, Practice Lab skill summaries, coaching pattern summaries, friend challenge history, seasonal progress, Quest campaign summaries, Daily Quest progress, preferences, and a random browser identifier can be stored on your device. The public leaderboard receives only the display name and summarized score data you submit.

Corrections and Personal Math Coach

Missed equations, entered answers, and correct answers stay in memory only for the current run so the results screen can offer a Mistake Review. They are not added to cloud synchronization or analytics. If coaching is enabled, SumSpark keeps versioned aggregate patterns such as operation, number range, accuracy, timeout count, response-time ranges, recent trend, and review schedule. It does not use AI, diagnose learning conditions, or keep a long-term list of exact equations or typed answers. Guest coaching works locally and can be reset separately without removing scores, trophies, leaderboard history, or unrelated settings.

Smart Start and Skill Check

The optional Skill Check keeps exact answers only during the current check. SumSpark stores summarized preliminary estimates, sample counts, confidence labels, your selected goal, Today recommendation dismissals, tutorial completion, and Your First 7 Days progress. These records are versioned, remain on the current device for guests, and may synchronize only when optional account sync is enabled. Goals and Skill Check details are not public-profile fields. Resetting onboarding preserves established scores, Practice statistics, coaching, Quest progress, challenges, and achievements.

Event Arcade

Arcade stores summarized results, official-attempt identity, personal bests, bounded aggregate Ghost checkpoints, achievements, settings, and recent event history. Ghost checkpoints contain elapsed time, score, correct count, and streak—not typed answers or exact answer playback. Exact Arcade mistakes remain session-based for Mistake Review. Practice Arcade never submits an official standing. Public Arcade standings are not currently enabled; authenticated synchronization may store summarized Arcade records in the account bundle.

Quest Mode and seasons

Quest Mode does not require an account. It stores summarized mission results, best Sparks, boss victories, cosmetic rewards, achievements, and Daily Quest progress rather than an indefinite answer-by-answer history. Weekly goals and guest Season progress are also stored locally. Supported sign-in may synchronize these summaries; real-player league standings require server authorization.

Friend challenges

Shared challenges store public-safe settings, the deterministic seed, creator display name, expiration, and summarized official results. Typed answers are sent for server validation, used to recalculate the score, and are not saved in standings. Replays are unranked.

Optional account and synchronization

On this hosting platform, optional identity uses Sign in with ChatGPT. SumSpark receives the authenticated email and optional display name through trusted server headers. The email is used to derive a private opaque owner key and is never published. Supported progress is stored in the site database only after you choose a migration option. Coaching synchronization merges deduplicated pattern-level session summaries and review events; it does not upload current-run Mistake Review records.

Profile visibility

Profiles start private. Public profiles can show your chosen identity and aggregate progress. Limited profiles show only chosen identity, level, badge, and challenge count. Private profiles cannot be browsed. No visibility setting shows email, typed answers, or detailed per-question history.

Analytics

SumSpark can record privacy-minimized interaction events such as page views, game completion, selected mode, broad score or accuracy ranges, Skill Check completion range, recommendation category, journey step, Arcade event type, correction use, broad weakness categories, and feature use. It does not send equations, typed or correct answers, exact operands, Ghost timelines, personal goals tied to identity, names, email, account IDs, or private mission history to analytics. Browser Do Not Track disables analytics requests.

Export and deletion

The Account page can export a readable JSON copy of synchronized data. Deleting the cloud account removes synchronized data and the profile; public challenge standings are anonymized. Device-local guest data remains under your browser’s control and can be cleared through browser storage controls or the relevant in-game reset.

Progress Center and local backups

The private Progress Center combines versioned summaries already stored by Daily Game, Daily Challenge, Practice, friend challenges, Quest, Arcade, and seasons. Some historical metrics use bounded retained history; SumSpark labels those limits instead of estimating missing data. A downloaded guest backup can include local gameplay summaries, practice profiles, preferences, coaching aggregates, and local unlocks. It excludes account secrets, emails, exact equations, typed answers, analytics identity, public leaderboard entries, and server-authoritative Spark balances. Restoring a backup pauses automatic cloud merging until you explicitly allow it.
